prasanno bhava deveśa sarvaśāpānnirākuru | sabodhaḥ prerakastvaṃ me tvamevaṃ vinivārakaḥ
O Herr der Götter, sei gnädig; tilge alle Flüche. Du bist mir der erwachte Führer und der innere Antrieb; so kannst nur Du allein diese Leiden abwehren und zügeln.

The verse highlights Śiva as Pati—the compassionate Lord who alone can dissolve obstacles like curses and karmic afflictions, guiding the soul (paśu) from bondage (pāśa) toward liberation through grace.
It reflects Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva as Deveśa who listens, becomes pleased (prasanna), and actively removes suffering. In Linga-worship, the devotee similarly seeks Śiva’s anugraha (grace) to neutralize negativity and restore dharma.
A practical takeaway is to pray for Śiva’s prasāda while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and to perform simple Śiva-upacāra (water offering, bilva leaves, or vibhūti) with the intent of inner purification and removal of obstacles.
