Hearing the Heavenly Voice; The Gaṇas Seek Refuge; Account of Satī’s Self-Immolation
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights that yajña without humility and devotion becomes empty ritualism; pride and ignorance turn the soul away from Pati (Śiva), strengthening pāśa (bondage) instead of leading to liberation.
Dakṣa’s hostility implies rejection of Śiva’s rightful place as the inner Lord of all rites; Linga/Saguna worship restores the understanding that all sacrificial merit is fulfilled only when offered with devotion to Śiva.
Practice ego-free worship: offer daily pūjā with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating humility so rites become means to bhakti and inner purification.
