It highlights that enlightened sages act in harmony with divine intention (abhiprāya), establishing names and forms in a way that supports dharma and the unfolding of Shiva’s sacred order.
By showing how sages “assign the appropriate name,” the verse reflects the Shaiva principle that Saguna forms, names, and rites are consciously established to guide devotees toward Shiva-realization.
The takeaway is mindful nāma-smaraṇa (remembrance of the divine name): adopting the proper sacred name/mantra with right understanding—classically centered on Shiva-mantras such as the Panchākṣarī.
