The Great Assembly at Prayāga: Śiva’s Appearance and Dakṣa’s Arrival
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It teaches that tattva-jñāna (right knowledge of Pati–Paśu–Pāśa and the Real) uproots the tendency to multiply saṃsāric experience through mental projection, and that liberation is supported by inner steadiness and freedom from anger and related impurities.
By urging Nandin to become svastha and krodhādi-varjita, the verse points to purification and one-pointedness—qualities that make Liṅga-upāsanā effective, where devotion to Saguna Shiva matures into tattva-jñāna and detachment from prapañca.
A practical takeaway is daily Shaiva discipline: japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with calm breath, coupled with ethical restraint—especially mastering anger—so the mind stops “constructing” prapañca and abides in Shiva-centered clarity.
