Viṣṇu’s Hymn and the Petition for Śiva–Satī’s Protection

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; the verse depicts the archetypal gṛhya rite of agni-pradakṣiṇā performed by Śiva and Śivā, highlighting dharma-conformity and auspicious union.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It highlights that even Śiva and Satī honor dharma by performing the rite exactly as enjoined, showing that disciplined sacred action (vidhi) offered with joy becomes a purifier and a support for devotion within the Shaiva path.
The verse presents Saguna Śiva participating in a visible ritual act—circumambulating the sacred fire—illustrating how embodied, external worship and prescribed observances can be valid expressions of reverence that lead the devotee toward inner realization of Śiva.
It suggests pradakṣiṇā (clockwise circumambulation) performed with happiness and obedience to śāstric guidance; in Shaiva practice this parallels doing pradakṣiṇā of the Śiva-liṅga or temple fire/lamp with a focused mind and devotional remembrance (e.g., mentally repeating “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
