The Brahmā–Śiva Dialogue on Attaining Satī

The verse highlights vinaya (humility) as a prerequisite for auspicious encounter with the sacred; when ego softens, devotion arises naturally—shown by Dakṣa’s joy and reverent approach—aligning the pashu (bound soul) toward Pati (Shiva).
Meeting “face to face” reflects approaching Saguna Shiva with personal reverence—an attitude central to Linga-worship where inner humility, not mere ritual display, makes the offering spiritually effective.
Cultivate vinaya before worship: begin with mental prostration and the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” approaching the shrine or Linga with gathered attention and respectful conduct, as Dakṣa approaches accompanied by his attendants.
