Pārvatī’s Vow of Truth and the Dialogue on Her Tapas

Brahma
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse highlights Pārvatī’s humility and reverence (praṇāma) before speaking—an essential Shaiva virtue showing that true spiritual authority is grounded in devotion, restraint, and respect for dharma.
Though the Liṅga is not named here, the mood is Saguna-bhakti: honoring divine order and sacred persons. In Shaiva Siddhanta, such reverent conduct purifies the heart, making one fit for Liṅga-worship and grace (anugraha) from Śiva.
A practical takeaway is praṇāma with mindful speech—begin spiritual practice by bowing (to Śiva, the Guru, or sacred beings) and then speaking truthfully and gently; this supports mantra-japa (including Pañcākṣarī) with inner humility.
