Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It marks the transition from the ascetic’s statement to Devī Pārvatī’s authoritative reply, highlighting that divine instruction (śakti-upadeśa) arises directly from the Goddess, guiding seekers toward Shaiva understanding and right discernment.
Though this line is a narrative bridge, it frames Pārvatī’s forthcoming teaching—typically aligned with Saguna devotion to Śiva (including Linga-oriented reverence) as a compassionate, accessible path that leads the devotee toward the highest truth.
No specific ritual is stated in this verse; the implied practice is śravaṇa (reverent listening) and mananā (contemplation) of Devī’s words—often complemented in Shaiva tradition by japa of the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” when her instruction turns toward upāsanā.
