Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
The verse shows Śiva as Pati—the conscious Lord who oversees even the highest cosmic functions. The devas, including Viṣṇu and Brahmā, approach Him for the true cause and resolution, implying that divine order ultimately rests in Śiva’s grace and command.
Śiva here speaks as the approachable Saguna Lord who responds to the needs of the cosmos. In Śaiva practice, this same accessibility is honored through Liṅga worship—approaching Śiva, stating one’s purpose, and seeking His directive and anugraha (grace).
A practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) through invocation—mentally approaching Śiva with clarity of intention, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and, where customary, wearing Rudrākṣa and applying Tripuṇḍra as signs of alignment with Śiva.
