Description of the Commencement of Battle
This is a concluding colophon: it seals the chapter and preserves the textual lineage. Spiritually, it frames the coming “battle” as a dhārmic movement under Śiva’s sovereignty—outer conflict reflecting the inner struggle where grace (Śiva) subdues bondage (pāśa).
Though it contains no direct ritual instruction, it situates the narrative within the Rudra Saṃhitā, where Saguna Śiva’s līlā is taught through story. Such structuring supports śravaṇa (devotional listening) as a form of worship aligned with Linga-centered Shaiva devotion.
As a chapter-end marker, the practical takeaway is pāṭha-niyama: conclude recitation with remembrance of Śiva—mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and offering a brief inner salutation before proceeding to the next adhyāya.
