This verse shows bhakti as direct surrender to Pati (Shiva), seeking His anugraha (grace). Nārada’s request frames spiritual life as both worship (yajña) and intimate alignment with Shiva—wanting not only boons but also closeness to the Lord.
Nārada addresses Shiva personally as Deva-Deveśa and Kṛpānidhi, reflecting Saguna devotion—approaching the Lord with name, form, and compassionate lordship. Such prayer is the inner mood that also supports Linga-worship, where the devotee seeks Shiva’s presence and favor through reverent ritual.
The verse points to yajña performed with ānanda (joy) and devotion, implying worship done as an offering to Shiva. As a practical takeaway, one may combine worship with mantra-japa (especially Shiva’s names) and a devotional sankalpa: to act as Shiva’s servant and companion in conduct and remembrance.
