FAQs

The verse highlights that right action (movement, duty, journey) is preceded by adhyātma-upadeśa—inner instruction that turns the mind toward Shiva (Pati) and loosens bondage (pāśa), aligning conduct with liberation-oriented wisdom.

Kumāra, as Shiva’s divine power in a personal form, models Saguna guidance: spiritual teaching is not separate from devotion. Such adhyātma instruction supports Linga-worship by purifying intention and directing the devotee from outer ritual to inner surrender to Shiva.

The implied takeaway is to receive and contemplate adhyātma teaching before undertaking worship or vows—e.g., steady japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with a focused inner attitude, supported by simple Shaiva disciplines like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and devotion.
