Narration of Kārttikeya’s Divine Play
Brahma
Tattva Level: pasha
Sthala Purana: No Jyotirliṅga; the verse introduces Viśvāmitra’s arrival ‘by ordinance’ (vidhi), underscoring Purāṇic providence guiding sages to pivotal events.
Cosmic Event: Vidhi (cosmic ordinance) is foregrounded—events unfold as if accidental yet are purposive within dharma’s hidden governance.
It highlights that key spiritual meetings are not merely accidental—events unfold through vidhi (divine dispensation), indicating a higher ordering that guides seekers and sages toward dharma and Shiva-oriented outcomes.
Though the verse does not mention Linga worship directly, it frames the Shaiva narrative principle that encounters leading to devotion and right action arise through Shiva’s overarching governance of karma and grace, often appearing outwardly as “chance.”
The takeaway is attentiveness to auspicious timing and inner readiness: maintain daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) so that when providential opportunities arise, one meets them with purity, calmness, and devotion.
