It teaches that desire must be disciplined through dharmic conduct; when passion is regulated rather than indulged indiscriminately, the mind becomes calm and the inner “burning” of craving subsides—supporting purity and steadiness on the Shaiva path.
Saguna Shiva is revered as the compassionate guide of dharma who purifies the devotee’s life. By living with restraint and purity, one becomes fit for Linga-worship, mantra-japa, and devotion, turning life-force toward Shiva rather than toward agitation.
The takeaway is self-restraint (brahmacharya in spirit) and purity of conduct; paired with Shaiva practice, one may support this with steady japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and a sattvic, disciplined lifestyle.
