Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse emphasizes that even contact with the divine demands reverence and right conduct (dharma). An improper act generates pāpa that manifests as inner “burning” (dāha), and Śiva’s command here reflects the moral law that consequences persist until purification and grace remove the bondage.
It highlights Saguna Śiva as the personal Lord who governs dharma and dispenses consequences and grace. In Linga worship, devotees approach Śiva with purity, restraint, and humility—recognizing that sacred power is not to be handled casually, but honored through proper ritual and devotion.
A practical takeaway is prāyaścitta (atonement) through Śiva-bhakti: japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” worship with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa where appropriate, and sincere repentance—seeking Śiva’s grace to cool the inner dāha caused by pāpa.
