Gaṇeśa’s Consecration, Boons, and Prescribed Worship
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Offering: pushpa
It presents Gaṇeśa’s proper स्थापना (pratiṣṭhā) as a Shaiva act that restores cosmic harmony—when Śiva’s gaṇādhipati is honored, collective suffering (duḥkha) subsides and auspiciousness returns.
In Saguna-Śiva devotion, honoring Śiva’s attendants and divine order is part of complete worship; establishing Gaṇeśa supports unobstructed Śiva-upāsanā and the successful performance of Śaiva rites.
Begin Śaiva worship with Gaṇeśa-prārthanā and a simple pratiṣṭhā/āvāhana (invocation), then proceed with mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to remove obstacles and stabilize auspiciousness.
