It highlights steadfast dharma and fearless devotion: Gaṇeśa, as Pārvatī’s son and Śiva’s guardian, embodies disciplined service (sevā) performed without fear, reflecting the Shaiva ideal of loyal adherence to divine duty.
The scene is set around Śiva’s sacred abode and its guardianship—an outward, Saguna framework through which devotees approach the formless truth. Respecting Śiva’s sanctum and divine order mirrors reverence shown to the Liṅga as Śiva’s approachable presence.
The takeaway is disciplined vrata-like conduct: maintain purity, restraint, and obedient focus while approaching Śiva for worship—paired with steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as an inner “gatekeeping” of the mind.
