रामेश्वरलिङ्गप्रादुर्भावः
The Manifestation/Origin of the Rāmeśvara Liṅga
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Sthala Purana: The verse frames an inner turning-point: at the moment of partaking consecrated water, remembrance (smaraṇa) arises not by personal effort alone but by Śiva’s icchā—typical of Purāṇic narration around tīrtha/abhiṣeka merit leading to grace.
Significance: Highlights the Śaiva Siddhānta emphasis that true recollection and right orientation toward Pati can be awakened by divine grace (anugraha), often catalyzed through tīrtha/abhiṣeka contact.
It highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace): true spiritual recollection (smaraṇa) arises not merely from personal effort, but when the Lord’s will awakens devotion and inner remembrance in the seeker.
The act of taking sacred water connected with Śiva’s worship points to Saguna devotion—external ritual becomes fruitful when Śiva inwardly grants remembrance, turning a physical act into living bhakti and God-consciousness.
Practice smaraṇa alongside worship: while offering or receiving tīrtha (sanctified water), mentally remember Śiva and repeat the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” relying on grace rather than mere ritual mechanics.
