Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a specific Jyotirliṅga-sthala; the verse depicts epiphanic emergence of Śambhu in response to prayer, a generic purāṇic theophany motif.
Significance: General teaching: sincere prārthanā and pūjā invite Śiva’s darśana and protection.
It highlights Shiva as Śambhu—the compassionate Lord who responds to sincere prayer by granting darśana, indicating that grace (anugraha) arises when devotion becomes wholehearted.
Kotirudra narratives often connect sacred places and manifestations to Jyotirliṅga worship; here, Shiva’s emerging “from an opening” suggests a tangible, saguna mode of revelation through which devotees can approach the transcendent Lord.
The key takeaway is heartfelt saṃprārthanā (earnest supplication); in practice this aligns with steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and focused prayer for Shiva’s darśana.
