Suta Goswami (narrating the prescribed Shiva-pūjā procedure to the sages)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Reinforces pūjā as disciplined hospitality to the Lord—ācamanīya/arghya/pānīya/tāmbūla—cultivating humility and receptivity to grace.
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It emphasizes disciplined, reverential completion of Shiva-pūjā through orderly offerings, training the devotee in purity, attentiveness, and bhakti—outer acts that steady the inner mind toward Pati (Shiva).
Arghya, ācamanīya, and naivedya are classical upacāras offered to Saguna Shiva in Linga-worship, expressing devotion through tangible service while contemplating Shiva as the indwelling consciousness beyond form.
Follow the puja sequence: offer ācamanīya and arghya, then naivedya such as water and tāmbūla, while maintaining mantra-japa (e.g., the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and a focused, respectful mind.
