ज्येष्ठाय नम इत्युक्त्वा शुभ्रवस्त्रम्प्रकल्पयेत् । श्रेष्ठाय नम इत्युक्त्वा दद्याद्यज्ञोपवीतकम्

Mit den Worten „Ehrerbietung dem Jyeṣṭha (dem Ältesten, Śiva)“ soll man ein reines weißes Gewand als Gabe bereiten. Mit den Worten „Ehrerbietung dem Śreṣṭha (dem Vortrefflichsten)“ soll man dann das Yajñopavīta, die heilige Schnur, darbringen.
