Nachdem man so meditiert hat, soll man sodann der Reihe nach mit Duftstoffen, Blumen und dergleichen verehren, indem man die Gabe auf den Sitz Gaṇapatis legt, auf den Lotus im Südwesten des Lotus‑Diagramms.

It teaches that Shaiva worship begins with dhyāna (inner alignment) and then proceeds with orderly external offerings; this disciplined sequence purifies the pashu (bound soul) and prepares the mind for devotion to Pati (Śiva).
The verse describes a preparatory step within saguna upāsanā: honoring Gaṇapati in the mandala removes obstacles and steadies attention so the main worship—often culminating in Linga-arcana and Śiva-mantra—can be performed without disruption.
First perform dhyāna, then offer gandha (fragrant paste), puṣpa (flowers), and related upacāras in prescribed order, specifically at Gaṇapati’s seat placed on the south‑western lotus of the ritual diagram.
