Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: teaching
It teaches that Śiva’s lordship is expressed through ordered divine potencies (kalās) that pervade the cosmic principles and even Śiva’s four-faced manifestation—showing Pati (Śiva) as the source and inner ruler of all tattvas.
The verse supports Saguna worship by explaining how the one Supreme Śiva manifests as Īśāna and the four faces with specific powers; the Liṅga is revered as the unified seat of these kalās, leading the devotee from form to the formless Lord.
Meditate on Pañcabrahma (the five aspects of Śiva) and their kalās while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), visualizing Śiva as the indwelling Puruṣa governing all principles in due order.
