Sannyāsa Maṇḍala Vidhi—Procedure for the Renunciate Mandala

Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailāsa-saṃhitā teaching to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that correct outer ritual (drawing the maṇḍala and performing worship) must be joined with inner restraint; then the practitioner’s attention turns from mere form to tattva—Reality—leading toward Shaiva liberation (moksha) through purified awareness.
Although the verse mentions Sūrya-worship, the Shaiva Siddhanta reading treats such worship as a disciplined, saguna support that trains the mind to recognize the deeper principle behind all divine forms—ultimately fulfilled in devotion to Pati (Shiva) as the supreme Reality.
A structured sādhana: draw a consecrated maṇḍala, maintain niyama (self-restraint), and perform focused pūjā with contemplative intent—using the rite to steady the mind on the underlying tattva rather than on external display.
