Transliteration

lagnam utkarṣataḥ khaḍgaṃ khaḍgena kapikuñjaraḥ |

jahāra saśirastrāṇaṃ kuṇḍalopahitaṃ śiraḥ ||6.98.33||

Translation

Als Mahodara daran zog, das feststeckende Schwert zu lösen, schlug Sugrīva—ein Elefant unter den Affen—mit eigener Klinge zu und trennte Mahodaras Haupt ab, mit Ohrringen geschmückt und vom Helm geschützt.
