Sarga 93: Rāvaṇa’s Grief and Fury after Indrajit’s Fall; Move to Slay Vaidehī and Ministerial Restraint
हनूमतस्तुतद्वाक्यं न कृतंक्षुद्रयामया ।।।।यद्यहंतस्यपृष्ठेवतदायासमनिर्जिता ।नाद्यैवमनुशोचेयंभर्तुरङ्कगतासती ।।।।
hanūmatas tu tad-vākyaṃ na kṛtaṃ kṣudrayā mayā | yadi ahaṃ tasya pṛṣṭhe vai tadā yāsam anirjitā | na adyaivam anuśoceyaṃ bhartur aṅka-gatā satī ||
In meiner Kleinmütigkeit befolgte ich Hanumans Worte nicht. Wäre ich damals, auf seinem Rücken sitzend, mitgegangen, so hätte ich gewiss unbesiegt mein Ziel erreicht; heute würde ich nicht so klagen, sondern als treue Gattin im Schoß meines Gemahls ruhen.
