Indrajit’s Fall, Rama’s Embrace, and Sushena’s Battlefield Healing
सशल्योऽयंमहाप्राज्ञस्सौमित्रिर्मित्रवत्सलः ।।।।यथाभवतिसुस्वस्थस्तथात्वंसमुपाचर ।
saśalyo 'yaṃ mahāprājñaḥ saumitrir mitravatsalaḥ |
yathā bhavati susvasthaḥ tathā tvaṃ samupācara ||6.92.20||
Dieser Saumitri, hochweise und seinen Freunden teuer, trägt noch immer die eingedrungenen Pfeile. Pflege ihn so, dass er völlig gesund werde.
"O very wise Sushena! Treat Saumithri in such a way that this Lakshmana, loved by friends pained by the arrows pierced, will be relieved."
Dharma includes compassion and duty of care: even in war, tending the wounded promptly is righteous conduct and part of responsible kingship.
Rāma calls upon Suṣeṇa, the physician, to remove the embedded arrows and restore Lakṣmaṇa’s health.
Protective responsibility and humane leadership—Rāma prioritizes healing and the well-being of his closest ally.
