Trisira’s Counsel and the Slaying of Naranthaka
निरायुधोमहातेजाःकेवलंनखदंष्ट्रवान् ।नरान्तकमभिक्रम्यवालिपुत्रोऽब्रवीद्वचः ।।।।
nirāyudho mahā-tejāḥ kevalaṁ nakha-daṁṣṭravān | narāntakam abhikramya vāli-putro ’bravīd vacaḥ ||
Waffenlos, doch strahlend, nur mit Nägeln und Zähnen bewaffnet, trat Vālis Sohn auf Narāntaka zu und sprach.
Brilliant Angada, unarmed only with nails and teeth (to fight) advanced towards Naranthaka and spoke these words.
Courage in righteous duty does not depend on external instruments; commitment to protect dharma can stand even when one is unarmed.
Aṅgada closes in on Narāntaka, ready to fight even without conventional weapons.
