The Appearance of Kumbhakarna and the Account of His Might
येनवैवस्वतोयुद्धेवासवश्चपराजितः ।सैषविश्रवसःपुत्रःकुम्भकर्णःप्रतापवान् ।।6.61.9।।अस्यप्रमाणसदृशोराक्षसाऽन्यो न विद्यते ।
yena vaivasvato yuddhe vāsavaś ca parājitaḥ |
saiṣa viśravasaḥ putraḥ kumbhakarṇaḥ pratāpavān ||6.61.9||
asya pramāṇasadṛśo rākṣaso'nyo na vidyate |
„Durch ihn wurden im Kampf Vaivasvata (Yama) und sogar Vāsava (Indra) besiegt. Dies ist Kumbhakarṇa, der machtvolle Sohn des Viśravas; unter den Rākṣasas ist keiner bekannt, der ihm an Größe gleichkäme.“
