The Rakshasas entered the beautiful residence of Kumbhakarna which was one yojana on all sides with huge gates, taking fragrant garlands and foods (to wake up Kumbhakarna) from where they were pushed out by the breath of Kumbhakarna. The Rakshasas endowed with mighty strength pushed their way into the residence of Kumbhakarna and entered.
Even in service of a flawed cause, effort and perseverance appear; dharma-centered reading asks: perseverance should be guided by righteous purpose, not merely by command.
Rākṣasas reach Kumbhakarṇa’s enormous, fragrant dwelling; his breath physically drives them back, but they struggle in and proceed.
Utsāha (determined effort) is emphasized in the attendants’ persistence, while simultaneously underscoring Kumbhakarṇa’s colossal, fearsome presence.
