The Awakening of Kumbhakarna
मन्त्रयित्वाप्रसुप्तोऽयमितस्तुनवमेऽहनि ।।।।तंतुबोधयतक्षिप्रंकुम्भकर्णंमहाबलम् ।
mantrayitvā prasupto 'yam itas tu navame 'hani |
taṃ tu bodhayata kṣipraṃ kumbhakarṇaṃ mahābalam ||6.60.17||
Nach der Beratung liegt er von hier an seit neun Tagen im Schlaf; darum weckt den überaus mächtigen Kumbhakarṇa unverzüglich.
"Deliberating like this with me, Kumbhakarna is sleeping for the ninth day from now. He may be quickly informed (aroused)."
Timely action is part of duty: delay and inertia in crisis undermine responsibility; dharma requires prompt, coordinated response.
With Laṅkā threatened, Rāvaṇa presses his servants to awaken Kumbhakarṇa immediately, noting the duration of his sleep.
Promptness and decisive execution (kṣipratā, niścaya) in carrying out orders during emergencies.
