The Slaying of Dhumrākṣa
ताडितःसतयातत्रगदयाभीमरूपया ।सकपिर्मारुतबलस्तंप्रहारमचिन्तयन् ।।6.52.35।।धूम्राक्षस्यशिरोमध्येगिरिशृङ्गमपातयत् ।
tāḍitaḥ sa tayā tatra gadayā bhīma-rūpayā |
sa kapir māruta-balas taṃ prahāram acintayan ||6.52.35||
dhūmrākṣasya śiro-madhye giri-śṛṅgam apātayat |
Dort von jener furchterregenden Keule getroffen, achtete der Affe – mächtig wie der Wind – nicht auf den Schlag und schleuderte einen Berggipfel mitten auf Dhūmrākṣas Kopf.
The Vanaras although strong were wielding maces, spikes, tridents, terrific iron bars and multitude of weapons of many kinds to crush the Rakshasas. They were endowed with prowess, knowledgeable of weapons and doing their duty without fear and with great enthusiasm.
