Sītā’s Lament over the Illusory Head and Bow
"O Raghava of incomprehensible valour! the words predicted by astrologers that your life is long is falsified. Your life has been short."
The verse contrasts human claims with reality, warning that dharmic life still faces uncertainty; truth (satya) is not mere prediction but what time reveals.
Sita interprets Rama’s apparent fall as contradicting earlier assurances about his longevity.
Sita’s frankness and moral seriousness—she does not romanticize events, but confronts the painful implication of what she sees.
