सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
तेसालैश्चाश्वकर्णैश्चधवैशैश्चवानराः ।कुटजैरर्जुनैस्तालैस्तिलकैस्न्तिशैरपि ।।।।बिल्वकैस्सप्तपर्णैश्चकर्णिकारैश्चसुपुष्पितैः ।चूतैश्चाशोकवृक्षैश्चसागरंसमपूरयन् ।।।।
te sālaiś cāśvakarṇaiś ca dhavaiśaiś ca vānarāḥ |
kuṭajair arjunais tālais tilakais triśirair api ||
Jene Vānara füllten das Meer mit Sāla‑, Aśvakarṇa‑ und Dhava‑Bäumen, ebenso mit Kuṭaja, Arjuna, Palmen, Tilaka und Triśira.
The Vanaras brought sala, asvakarna, dhava, bamboo, kutaja arjuna, palmira, tilaka, trisaira, bilva, saptaparni trees karnikara plants with blossoms, mango trees and ashoka trees and dumped into the ocean.
Dharma is steadfast contribution: each participant brings whatever resources are available, showing that righteous goals are achieved through consistent, shared responsibility.
The vānaras gather many kinds of trees as building material for the causeway across the ocean.
Kārya-niṣṭhā (commitment to the task) expressed through tireless collection of materials.
