सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
रामस्यवचनंश्रुत्वातंचदृष्टवामहाशरम् ।महोदधिर्महातेजाराघवंवाक्यमब्रवीत् ।।।।
rāmasya vacanaṃ śrutvā taṃ ca dṛṣṭvā mahāśaram | mahodadhir mahātejā rāghavaṃ vākyam abravīt ||
Als der strahlende große Ozean Rāmas Worte vernahm und den mächtigen Pfeil sah, sprach er zu Rāghava (Rāma).
On hearing the question of Rama, the mighty ocean seeing the brilliant arrow spoke these words to him.
Dharma is supported by timely accountability: when confronted with rightful authority, the Ocean responds and enters dialogue rather than remaining indifferent.
This is the transition where the Ocean, intimidated by the prepared arrow, begins to address Rāma directly.
Responsiveness and humility before righteous power: the Ocean recognizes Rāma’s seriousness and chooses dialogue.
