दर्शनम् — Rama Receives Sita’s Token and Questions Hanuman
इमं दृष्ट्वा मणिश्रेष्ठं यथा तातस्य दर्शनम्।अद्यास्म्यवगतस्सौम्य वैदेहस्य तथा विभोः।।।।
imaṃ dṛṣṭvā maṇiśreṣṭhaṃ yathā tātasya darśanam |
adyāsmy avagataḥ saumya vaidehasya tathā vibhoḥ ||
O Edler, beim Anblick dieses erlesensten Juwels ist es, als sähe ich meinen Vater — und ebenso den mächtigen König von Videha; so lebendig ruft dieses Zeichen sie mir ins Gedächtnis.
"O noble Sugriva! now when I see this excellent jewel, I get direct sight of my father and king of Videha (in the same way as I obtained the sight of Sita).
Dharma honors relationships and gratitude: rightful memory of parents and benefactors is sustained through truthful recognition of signs connected to them.
Rama, seeing Sita’s jewel-token, is overwhelmed by remembrance of his father and of Janaka, confirming the token’s authenticity.
Rama’s filial devotion and integrity—his emotions arise from a truthful, relational consciousness rather than impulse.
