An den Knien geschleift und einer obszönen Zurschaustellung ausgesetzt, gingen die Wächter — zutiefst erschüttert — zu Dadhimukha und berichteten ihm, was geschehen war.
Some were dragged on their knees and tossed up. Some monkeys exhibited their private parts, showing indecent behaviour. Dadhimukha, highly disturbed at this, said:
Dharma includes maryādā (public propriety) and protection of others’ dignity; humiliating others is adharma even in moments of victory or celebration.
The displaced guards, having been abused and insulted, approach their superior Dadhimukha to inform him of the vānaras’ misconduct.
Truthful reporting and seeking rightful redress through one’s authority rather than retaliating blindly.
