Hanuman’s Report and Praise of the Vanara Host
वरोत्सेकेन मत्तौ च प्रमथ्य महतीं चमूम्।सुराणाममृतं वीरौ पीतवन्तौ प्लवङ्गमौ।।।।
varotsekēna mattau ca pramathya mahatīṃ camūm | surāṇām amṛtaṃ vīrau pītavantau plavaṅgamau ||
Vom Stolz auf ihre Gaben berauscht, gleichsam davon betrunken, zerschmetterten jene beiden plavaṅgama-Helden ein gewaltiges Heer und tranken das Amṛta der Devas, den Nektar der Unsterblichkeit.
"The heroic monkeys, proud of their boons became intoxicated it and slaughtered vast army and drank the nectar of immortality.
Power gained through divine favor (boons) must be oriented toward rightful purpose—here, heroic force is portrayed as overwhelming, but in the Ramayana frame it is justified only when aligned with the dharmic mission of rescuing Sita and restoring moral order.
In his report, Hanuman recalls the extraordinary prowess of two monkey-heroes who, empowered by boons, routed a vast enemy force and even partook of divine nectar.
Vīrya (heroic strength) coupled with divine empowerment—extraordinary capability that supports the larger righteous cause.
