सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः

हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्

तृणवद्भाषितं तासां गणयामास जानकी।।।।गर्जितं च तदा तासां सीतां प्राप्य निरर्थकम्।

tṛṇavad bhāṣitaṃ tāsāṃ gaṇayāmāsa jānakī | garjitaṃ ca tadā tāsāṃ sītāṃ prāpya nirarthakam ||

Doch Jānakī achtete ihr Gerede wie einen Halm Gras; und ihr Brüllen und Drohen gegen Sītā erwies sich als vergeblich.
