The Token of Recognition (Chūḍāmaṇi) and the Crow Episode Recalled
मणिवरमुपगृह्य तं महार्हं जनकनृपात्मजया धृतं प्रभावात्।गिरिरिव पवनावधूतमुक्तः सुखितमनाः प्रतिसङ्क्रमं प्रपेदे।।5.38.73।।
maṇi-varam upagṛhya taṃ mahārhaṃ janaka-nṛpātmajayā dhṛtaṃ prabhāvāt |
girir iva pavanāvadhūta-muktaḥ sukhita-manāḥ pratisaṅkramaṃ prapede ||5.38.73||
Nachdem Hanuman jenes höchst kostbare, strahlende Juwel an sich genommen hatte, das einst die Tochter König Janakas trug, machte er sich, froh im Herzen, zum Aufbruch bereit – wie ein Berg, der sich löst, nachdem ihn der Wind getroffen und erschüttert hat.
"I offered to take you today itself out of my love and devotion to Rama with a desire to unite you with him and not with any other intention.
Dharma as timely completion of entrusted work: having secured proof for truth, Hanuman moves to fulfill his obligation by returning without delay.
The sarga closes with Hanuman readying himself to leave Ashoka grove and carry Sita’s token and message back to Rama.
Reliability and resolve: joy does not distract him from the duty of return.
