Description of Rama and Lakshmana; Alliance Narrative to Sita
स च देवर्षिभिर्दिष्टः पिता मम महाकपिः।तीर्थे नदीपतेः पुण्ये शम्बसादनमुद्धरत्।।।।
sa ca devarṣibhir diṣṭaḥ pitā mama mahākapiḥ | tīrthe nadīpateḥ puṇye śambasādanam uddharat ||
Und jener große Affe—von den Devarṣis als mein Vater vorherbestimmt—hob an der heiligen Furt beim Herrn der Flüsse (dem Meer) ein Stück Land empor und bezwang Śambasādana.
"He (Kesari) is said to be my father by the divine sages. He retrieved a piece of land in a holy spot of that sea shore and killed Sambasadana, a demon who was oppressing righteous people.
Dharma includes protecting the righteous and restoring order: the father-figure is portrayed as acting at a sacred place to remove oppression, aligning strength with moral purpose.
Hanuman continues his self-identification by recounting traditions about his father and a deed associated with a holy coastal site.
