रावणस्य तर्जनं सीताया धर्मोक्तिः
Ravana’s Threats and Sita’s Dharma-Centered Reply
प्रस्थितः स दशग्रीवः कम्पयन्निव मेदिनीम्।।।।ज्वलद्भास्करवर्णाभं प्रविवेश निवेशनम्।
prasthitaḥ sa daśagrīvaḥ kampayann iva medinīm |
jvaladbhāskaravarṇābhaṃ praviveśa niveśanam ||
Da zog Daśagrīva davon, als ließe er die Erde erbeben, und trat in seine Wohnstatt ein, strahlend wie die lodernde Sonne.
Thereupon the ten-necked demon departed, as if he was shaking the earth and entered his residence which was shining like the blazing mid-day Sun.
The verse contrasts external splendour and power with inner disorder: dharma evaluates character, not merely grandeur or force.
Rāvaṇa leaves the grove area and goes back into his palace.
By contrast, humility and self-governance are implied as virtues absent here; raw might is shown without moral refinement.
