Hanuman’s Search Through Ravana’s Inner Apartments
स चिन्तयामास ततो महाकपिःप्रियामपश्यन्रघुनन्दनस्य ताम्।ध्रुवं हि सीता म्रियते यथा न मेविचिन्वतो दर्शनमेति मैथिली।।।।
sa cintayāmāsa tato mahākapiḥ |
priyām apaśyan raghunandanasya tām |
dhruvaṃ hi sītā mriyate yathā na me |
vicinvato darśanam eti maithilī ||
Da sann der große Affe nach: Da er die Geliebte des Raghu-Sohnes nicht fand, fürchtete er: „Gewiss vergeht Sītā, denn obwohl ich suche, kommt Maithilī nicht in meinen Blick.“
The great monkey, unable to find the beloved of Rama thought Sita might not be surviving. So he started thinking, ' I could not see her even though I have searched allover'.
Dharma includes responsibility for outcomes: Hanumān measures his duty not only by effort but by the urgent need to protect the innocent.
After searching without success, Hanumān’s mind turns to fear and doubt that Sītā may have died.
