Hanuman’s Self-Assertion of Power and Ascent of Mount Mahendra
पन्नगाशनमाकाशे पतन्तं पक्षिसेविते।वैनतेयमहं शक्तः परिगन्तुं सहस्रशः।।4.67.14।।
pannagāśanam ākāśe patantaṃ pakṣisevite | vainateyam ahaṃ śaktaḥ parigantuṃ sahasraśaḥ ||
Ich vermag Vainateya—Garuḍa, den Schlangenvertilger—tausendfach zu umkreisen, während er am von Vögeln belebten Himmel dahinfliegt.
'I am capable of circumambulating a thousand times the great Garuda who consumes snakes and flies in the sky, the abode of birds.
The verse supports dharma by removing doubt: truthful assurance of competence helps a righteous collective act decisively.
Hanumān continues his declaration of speed and endurance using Garuḍa as a benchmark.
