दूत्यम् / Hanuman’s Mediation and Lakshmana’s Appeal to Sugriva
एष दत्त्वा च वित्तानि प्राप्य चानुत्तमं यशः।लोकनाथः पुरा भूत्वा सुग्रीवं नाथमिच्छति।।
eṣa dattvā ca vittāni prāpya cānuttamaṃ yaśaḥ |
lokanāthaḥ purā bhūtvā sugrīvaṃ nātham icchati ||
„Dieser, der Reichtümer verschenkte und unübertrefflichen Ruhm erlangte, obgleich er einst Weltenherr und Beschützer war, wünscht nun, Sugrīva zu seinem Beistand zu haben.“
'Having earned supreme fame through his munificence in the past, this lord of the world now craves Sugriva's indulgence.
Dharma includes humility and appropriate dependence: even the renowned may seek rightful assistance to restore justice, without pride.
Hanuman presents Rama’s stature and past glory while underscoring that Rama now seeks Sugriva’s support.
