किष्किन्धायां सुग्रीवस्य नादः
Sugriva’s War-Cry at Kishkindha
सफलां च करिष्यामि प्रतिज्ञां जहि सम्भ्रमम्।प्रसूतं कलमं क्षेत्रे वर्षेणेव शतक्रतुः4.14.15।।
saphalāṃ ca kariṣyāmi pratijñāṃ jahi sambhramam | prasūtaṃ kalamaṃ kṣetre varṣeṇeva śatakratuḥ ||
„Ich werde mein Gelübde fruchtbar machen—lege deine Bangigkeit ab—so wie Śatakratu (Indra) durch rechtzeitigen Regen die Saat auf dem Feld zur Reife bringt.“
'I shall fulfil my promise just as Indra (who performed a hundred sacrifices) helps production in the cornfield through timely rain. Give up your apprehension.
Dharma as promise-keeping: a vow must culminate in tangible benefit for the protected party; reassurance is tied to responsible follow-through.
Rāma further strengthens Sugrīva’s confidence by comparing his promised help to Indra’s rain that ripens crops.
