The Manifestation of the Śloka
स प्रविश्याश्रमपदं शिष्येण सह धर्मवित् ।उपविष्ट: कथाश्चान्याश्चकार ध्यानमास्थित: ।।1.2.22।।
sa praviśyāśramapadaṃ śiṣyeṇa saha dharmavit | upaviṣṭaḥ kathāś cānyāś cakāra dhyānam āsthitaḥ ||1.2.22||
Als er mit seinem Schüler die Einsiedelei betrat, setzte sich Vālmīki — der Kenner des Dharma — nieder; in Versenkung versunken, begann er, weitere Erzählungen zu verfassen.
Valmiki who knows dharma entered the hermitage along with his disciple and sat in meditation and composed other stories.
Right speech and right creation arise from disciplined contemplation; dharma-guided awareness becomes the ground for truthful narration (satya) and meaningful literature.
Back at the hermitage, Vālmīki sits in a meditative mood and begins composing.
Vālmīki’s dharma-knowledge and inward focus, which channel emotion into disciplined expression.
