भरतागमनशङ्कानिवारणम् / Dispelling Suspicion about Bharata’s Arrival

सुसंरब्धं तु सौमित्रिं लक्ष्मणं क्रोधमूर्छितम्।रामस्तु परिसान्त्व्याथ वचनं चेदमब्रवीत्।।।।
susaṃrabdhaṃ tu saumitriṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ krodha-mūrchitam | rāmas tu parisāntvyātha vacanaṃ cedam abravīt || 2.97.1 ||
Da beruhigte Rama Lakshmana, Sumitras Sohn, der heftig erregt und vom Zorn überwältigt war, und sprach diese Worte.
Thereafter, Rama pacified Lakshmana, son of Sumitra who was violently agitated. He said to him who had swooned with rage:
Dharma is restraint and compassionate correction: Rama responds to anger not with anger, but by calming and guiding—upholding truth and family-duty.
After Lakshmana’s violent outburst, Rama intervenes to pacify him before explaining the likely reality.
