Transliteration

sā ’haṃ tvadarthe samprāptā tvaṃ tu māṃ nāvabuddhyase |

sapatnī-vṛddhau yā me tvaṃ pradeyaṃ dātum icchasi ||2.8.26||

Translation

Ich bin deinetwegen gekommen; und doch verstehst du mich nicht. Gerade wenn deine Nebenfrau aufblüht, willst du mir ein Geschenk geben, als wäre es ein mir «zustehender» Lohn.
