O Charioteer, if ever I have rendered you any favour, quickly take me to Rama. My life is hastening me (fast running out).
It highlights reciprocity and loyalty: Daśaratha appeals to past goodwill as a moral bond, urging prompt compassionate action in a moment of crisis.
Daśaratha, physically and mentally collapsing from separation, implores Sumantra to take him immediately to see Rāma.
Sumantra’s expected fidelity and service (sevā-dharma) to the king, and Daśaratha’s candid admission of human frailty.
